How I Feel About GD's New Album

GD's new album, coup d'etat, is seriously AMAZING.
i think that this album really demonstrates his artistry and depth and understanding of human emotions.

i love that 삐딱하게 (Crooked) is all in Korean. i love that so much! and then, on the flip side, i love how while all the lyrics are composed in korean, its such a punk rock song thats super grunge, and filmed on the streets of London!!!
that made me really excited. at one point i was like, wait.... James Dean, is that you? lol or someone from Grease???... seriously!!!

and coup d'etat is so amazing. it's so complex and so abstract, it blows my mind!!

i seriously feel like in back in middle school, when i used to watch 인기가요 every week LOL & buy all the albums and stay in bed so i could memorize the lyrics as fast as i possibly could.
i am ashamed to admit that, yes, i literally have been memorizing songs in bed. and reading up articles left and right. ugh. this is not okay......lol.

on a side note: there are a lot of people out there who want him to produce music in english english english, and don't understand why he would want to do songs in korean, if he wants to be an international star.  the same goes for psy_ doesn't he get a lot of crap for that?

for me though, i get it.  growing up speaking one dominant language, i don't think that it would be an easy feat to try and convey emotion, memory, heartache, happiness.. whatever it may be, in an honest and genuine way.  i've heard korean artists' songs written in english, and afterwards... i've honestly cringe and felt so embarrassed. for them, for me, for the people who will hear the song, the people who have heard the song.... it's just... not good. i think that in an artist's position, there has to be something that is raw and almost harshly honest.  and so i am very happy that GD is making amazing music with lots of korean lyrics, lol. plus, there can be such a disconnect between korean and english, where everything gets lost in translation.  sometimes, what's said in korean seems so much more blunt and honest than in english. hehe.

and omg!! he is such a fashionisto!! i love his clothes. i love his hair. i love his shoes!! like, um, hello, why is he wearing the dopest clothes and looking all fly and shet? hey, GD, you like Saint Laurent? i do too!!! lets be friends, hahahahaha!

ok, i'm done now.
sorry, guys. i just had to share my two cents. ;)
